I may have found the perfect accessory for that fancy Near Year's Eve party you are going to! Yes, look totally dapper with this bowtie made entirely out of paper. It's sophistication with a twist.
PS I can't promise that this DIY is super easy. This video is not to necessarily teach you how to make each fold, but to demonstrate the general crease pattern. If you don't have a lot of experience with folding tessellations, I'd strongly suggest that you try the bracelet DIY first. It will help you get a sense of how these folds work. Good luck!
Here I am using Canson Mi-Teintes drawing paper, but anything around 98 lb (160 gsm) should work.

Print the DIY crease pattern on letter size cardstock.

Cut out these three pieces: two bigger pieces for the bow, and one for the knot.

With the ruler's straight edge as guide, score along all the dot-dot and dash-dot lines with the dull side of a blade. This will allow easy folding. Be careful to not cut through the paper.

Fold the bow strip like so.

Start following the crease lines to make the mountain and valley folds.

Crease these folds.

Squeeze to set the folds.

Crease and set the next group of folds.

Crease and set the next group of folds.

Now you have completed one side. Repeat for the other side.

Now you have completed half of the bow. Repeat and make the other half bow.

Crease the knot strip like so.

Flatten the knot strip and create this pleated look.

Make it into a loop.

Glue the two half bows together.

Wrap the loop around the bow. And you are done!
